Alice Malseed is a theatre-maker, writer, dramaturg and creative producer.
Alice’s theatre work comments on the ‘now’ in our society with humour and lyricism, politics and provocation.
She is working on her debut novel and has written several short stories including ‘Golden Boy’ which was given an Honourable Mention from the Alpine Prize.
Alice has taken her award-winning theatre productions to theatres and festivals across across UK and Ireland.
Alice works as a Dramaturg and Freelance Creative Producer. She has worked as a dramaturg for Druid and with many individual artists across Ireland and UK.
As producer, she has worked with companies such as Performing Arts Forum, Xnthony Ltd, Tinderbox Theatre Company, Belfast Ensemble and Kabosh. She has produced shows at Dublin Theatre Festival, Dublin Fringe, the MAC, London Southbank Centre, East Side Arts Festival, and Lyric Theatre.
In 2025 she was part of Six in the Attic with Irish Theatre Institute, and the Mavens Programme. Previously she was part of the ISPD Explore Design Mentorship and the PEN Freedom to Write Programme with the John Hewitt Society. She joined the Lyric New Playwright’s Programme and the BBC Writersroom in 2018.
She has worked in London, across the UK, in India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and across Ireland.
Alice studied at Goldsmiths, gaining BA Drama and Theatre Arts, and MA Applied Drama (postgraduate scholarship).
Alice is based in Belfast in the North of Ireland.
